Gallery

Manage brand and location photos that flow into your website and Google Business Profile

The Gallery is your central photo library — one set per company (brand-wide) and one per location (location-specific). Photos uploaded here flow automatically into all integrations that consume images: your website template, your Google Business Profile listings, and any future channel.

Enabling the gallery

The Gallery is an optional feature. An account admin enables it from Settings → Account → Features. Once on, two new surfaces appear:

  • A Brand gallery section on every company page.
  • A Gallery tab on every location page.

If you don't see them, ask your account admin to switch the feature on.

Where to put which photo

A simple rule: brand-wide photos go on the company; location-specific photos go on the location.

  • Cover photo — usually brand-wide. Some chains have a different cover per location, in which case use the location gallery.
  • Exterior / Interior — almost always location-specific (the front door of this shop).
  • Product / Food & drink / Menu — usually brand-wide, occasionally per location for seasonal specials.
  • At work / Team — typically location-specific (the team at this branch).
  • Additional — anything that doesn't fit the categories above.

When publishing to Google, we combine the company gallery and the relevant location gallery. If both have a photo in the same category, the location's photo wins.

Note: the company logo is not part of the gallery. Upload your logo in the company edit form — it's the single canonical brand mark.

Categories

The category list mirrors what Google Business Profile accepts. Picking the right one helps Google show your photos in the right places (cover image, photo carousel, exterior shots, etc.). The categories are:

Cover · Profile · Exterior · Interior · Product · At work · Food & drink · Menu · Common area · Rooms · Team · Additional

Limits

  • Cover and Profile photos: only the first one is published to Google. You can store more than one in Gridwork — the picker shows a hint when this happens — and reorder which one is first.
  • All other categories: as many photos as you like.
  • Per file: PNG, JPEG, or WebP, up to 4 MB. We re-encode every image to WebP at upload to keep page loads fast.

Uploading

  1. Open the Gallery section on a company, or the Gallery tab on a location.
  2. Expand the category you want to add to.
  3. Click Add image and pick a file from your computer.
  4. The image appears in the grid immediately.

Captions

Every image can have an optional caption. Click the pencil icon on a photo to edit it. Captions show up:

  • In Gridwork's gallery view (so you can tell similar shots apart).
  • In the website payload (templates can render them as alt text or carousel captions).

Captions are not sent to Google Business Profile — Google's photo API doesn't accept captions. They're local to your other channels.

Reordering

Hover over a photo and use the up/down arrows to change the order within a category. The order matters because:

  • For Cover and Profile, the first photo is the one Google publishes.
  • Website templates render images in the same order they appear here.

Removing photos

Hover and click the trash icon. The image is removed from Gridwork and the underlying file is deleted from storage. Removing a photo will not retroactively remove it from Google — Google keeps a copy until you also remove it on the GBP side. Future versions of the Google Business Profile integration will sync deletions automatically.
