References

Build a portfolio of case studies and reference projects per company

References are portfolio entries — case studies, completed projects, or customer testimonials — that belong to a company. Use them to showcase your work on a generated website, in a sales deck, or in a custom export.

Heads up: References are an optional feature. If you don't see References in the company sidebar, an account admin can enable it under Settings → Objects. The entry also only appears for users whose role grants read permission on References.

Where to find references

Open a company, then click References in the company sidebar. You'll see every reference tied to this company in a table, with its name, a short description, and how many gallery images it holds.

Adding a reference

  1. Click Add reference.
  2. Fill in the basics:
    • Name (required) — the project or customer name displayed publicly.
    • Description — long-form copy explaining the work.
  3. Click Create Reference.

Cover and gallery images are added afterwards in the edit view — they need an existing reference to attach to.

Editing a reference

Click the edit action on any row to open the reference in a modal. Here you can change the name and description and manage its images. Changes save when you click Save Reference at the bottom of the modal.

Cover and gallery images

  • Cover image — single image used everywhere the reference is summarized. PNG, JPEG, or WebP up to 4 MB. Upload or replace it from the Cover image field in the edit modal.
  • Gallery images — multiple images shown alongside the reference. Add as many as you need; remove individual images by hovering and clicking the remove icon.

Both are stored in connected blob storage and served from a CDN, so they're fast to load and survive account-level operations.

Deleting a reference

Click the delete action on any row and confirm. The reference and all its images are removed permanently — there's no recycle bin. Disable any external feed (e.g. the website feed) before bulk-deleting if you want the changes to propagate cleanly.
