Changing your plan
How upgrades and downgrades work, and when changes take effect
You change plans from Settings → Plan & Billing. The tab shows your current plan and the available tiers. Picking a different plan first opens the billing details form (your address and tax ID, prefilled), then Stripe Checkout, where you confirm the change against your existing payment method. Only account admins can change the plan.
Upgrades
An upgrade takes effect right away. As soon as Checkout confirms, the new plan's features and add-ons unlock for your account. You don't wait for the next billing cycle, and you don't need to sign out and back in.
We do not prorate the difference. You aren't charged a partial amount for the rest of the current month, and you aren't credited for what you already paid on the lower plan. The full price of the new plan is charged on your next 1st of the month, same as any other monthly invoice.
In practice that means upgrading mid-month is the cheapest moment to do it: you get the higher plan for the remainder of the month at no extra cost.
Downgrades
A downgrade is scheduled. Pick the lower plan and the change is queued to take effect on your next renewal (the upcoming 1st of the month). Until then, you keep everything from your current plan, because you've already paid for it.
On the renewal date, the new (lower) plan becomes active and you're charged at the lower rate from that day forward. Features that were only included in the higher plan turn off at the same time. If a content section like Jobs or References was unlocked by the higher tier, it becomes read-only until you upgrade again.
You can cancel a pending downgrade before it takes effect by opening Plan & Billing and switching back to your current plan.
Add-ons
Integration add-ons (Website, Google Ads, Personio, Google Business Profile) follow the same rules. Adding one unlocks the integration immediately and charges on the next 1st. Removing one is scheduled for the next renewal so you keep access through what you've already paid for.
Frequently asked
Will I be charged twice if I upgrade mid-month? No. There's no upfront charge on upgrade, and no partial charge for the rest of the month. The new price simply applies from your next 1st.
Can I downgrade and re-upgrade in the same month? Yes. As long as the downgrade hasn't taken effect yet, switching back to a higher plan cancels it.
What happens to my data when I downgrade? Nothing is deleted. Content from features that turn off stays in the database and reappears when you upgrade back.
