Accounts
How accounts work and how to manage them
Accounts are the top-level tenants in Gridwork. Every company, location, employee, service, and post belongs to exactly one account. If you manage multiple franchises or business units, each one can have its own account with separate data and user access.
What is an account?
An account contains:
- Companies and locations — Your organizational structure.
- Users and roles — Who can access the account and what they can do.
- Services, employees, posts — All operational and marketing data.
- A subscription plan — Determines feature availability and limits.
Tip: Think of an account as a fully isolated workspace. Data never leaks between accounts, even if the same user belongs to more than one.
Viewing your accounts
Open the account switcher in the sidebar to see every account you have access to. Select an account to make it active — all pages and data will then reflect that account.
Creating a new account
If you have the right permissions, you can create additional accounts:
- Navigate to Accounts in the sidebar.
- Click Add Account.
- Enter a name and choose a subscription plan.
- Save — the new account is ready to use.
Switching between accounts
Use the account switcher in the sidebar to change accounts. Your role and permissions are evaluated per account, so you may have different capabilities depending on which account is active.
Editing an account
From the Accounts list, click Edit on any account row to update its name, logo, or subscription plan.
Deleting your account
Account admins can permanently delete their account from Settings → Danger Zone. Open the tab, click Delete account, and in the confirmation modal type the exact account name to unlock the delete button. See Settings → Danger Zone for the full list of what gets removed.
Deletion is immediate and irreversible. All companies, locations, employees, services, marketing posts, custom fields, and API keys under the account are removed. If the account was your only workspace, your user record is removed as well, and any pending verification emails are invalidated.
You will receive an email confirming the deletion. If you did not trigger it, contact support right away — someone with admin access may have taken action on your behalf.
